How You Can Support Ukraine
Some may not know, but Ukraine is very much at the heart of ViralGains. Our President, COO, and Co-Founder, Dan Levin, is from Ukraine and over the years our team has loved hearing his stories of the country and the special place it holds in his and his family’s lives.
ViralGains is not just a company, but truly a family that fiercely supports one another both professionally and personally. This is why we’d like to deviate from our typical blog content to highlight some ways our team is passionate about supporting Ukraine during this time.
Project Hope
As a company, we recently donated to this incredible organization, which focuses on the front lines of the world’s health challenges, partnering with communities, health care workers and public health systems to ensure sustainable change. With recent events in Ukraine, they recognized the extensive toll on hospitals and that people unable to flee face worsening shortages of food, medicine and electricity. Within Ukraine, bordering countries like Poland, and worldwide, Project HOPE emergency teams are delivering medical supplies, care and other relief for refugees and displaced children and families.
World Central Kitchen #ChefsForUkraine
Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen helps provide meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises while working to build resilient food systems with locally led solutions. Since the invasion of Ukraine, WCK’s Relief Team has been on the ground supporting families sheltering in the country as well as refugees arriving in Poland, Romania, Moldova, Hungary, and most recently, in Spain. Cooking out of their Relief Kitchen based in Przemysl, Poland and mobilizing their network of chefs and volunteers across all six countries, WCK is providing nearly 200,000 hot, nourishing meals every day. They’re also making daily food product deliveries into Ukraine and throughout the country for WCK restaurant partners cooking.
Voices of Children
This organization focuses on providing psychological and psychosocial support to children who have suffered as a result of war operations. They are currently working in various villages and towns along the frontline in Donetsk and Luhansk regions to provide non-stop assistance to affected children and families, lend emergency psychological assistance, and help with the evacuation process. With their 50+ psychologists they are also seeking housing for families and providing them with food and clothing. Their ultimate mission is to make sure not a single child in Ukraine is left alone with the war.
Spend with Ukraine
This incredible organization looks to help fight the darkness of the war by spending with Ukraine to stand with Ukrainians. In other words, this website highlights the variety of Ukrainian-involved companies and products available to the U.S. to help support the country. Here’s a great video that sums it up:
If you’re interested in exploring other charities to donate to, we’ve been monitoring this list from CharityWatch who note these organizations as top-rated due to their spending of at least 75% of their cash budgets on programs.
Additionally, with such heavy events unfolding, especially over the past few years, one of our team members recommended an episode of Brené Brown’s podcast, Unlocking Us, in which she discusses with Karen Walrond the struggle to feel fully connected and joyous during times like these. Karen wrote a book called the Lightmaker’s Manifesto, which is all about working for change without losing your joy. We hope you regain some of your joy by listening!
If there are any other organizations you think should be included in this list, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at marketing@viralgains.com.
